Week 3 Revenge Games: 6 Players Out to Torch Their Ex-Teams

This week's historical revenge takes us back to the Wild West and the origin of "Pistol Pete". When Frank Eaton was a mere eight years old, he witnessed a vicious gang of former Confederate vigilantes known as the Camp Rebels ride onto his family's property in Kansas, gunning down his father. A family friend handed him a revolver and told him to seek retribution for his dad, or else he would be cursed.

Eaton then spent his entire youth practicing his draw until he could outshoot anyone in the territory, eventually becoming a U.S. Marshal to help fund his vendetta. Over the next 20 years, he systematically tracked down each of the six men involved in his father's murder. He killed five of them in fast-draw shootouts, and sadly the sixth was killed by someone else before he could get to him. Eaton lived to be an old man, and his legacy as a relentless avenger eventually inspired the "Pistol Pete" mascot for Oklahoma State University.

Revenge is always on the minds of those done dirty, and not all NFL players who changed teams were necessarily wronged, but we have to assume some sort of vengeance lies within.

Week 3 Revenge Seekers

D'Andre Swift (CHI) vs. Eagles

You may have forgotten, but between three years in Detroit and the last two years and two games in Chicago, D'Andre Swift spent one season in Philadelphia. The RB posted a 229-1049-5 rushing line with an additional 39 receptions for 214 yards and a touchdown through the air during that 2023 season, which translated to 11.2 half-PPR points per contest as the RB24. Swift became a free agent after that first Pro Bowl season and signed with the Bears, where he's produced two fantasy RB2 campaigns. This week, he faces the Eagles, likely without his starting QB, so he could be used a bit more on top of seeking revenge. Consider the 27-year-old an RB2 with retaliation upside.

Jakobi Meyers (JAC) vs. Patriots

He was a UDFA who signed with New England in 2019 and played for the Patriots until 2022. Jakobi Meyers produced as their WR1 for two of those seasons (2020 and 2022) before leaving for the Raiders in 2023. Through two contests, Meyers has just three targets behind Parker Washington and Brian Thomas Jr., but perhaps Trevor Lawrence will look his way a few more times this week for retaliation's sake.

Wan'Dale Robinson (TEN) @ Giants

It's fresh revenge time for Wan'Dale Robinson as this is his first season on another roster after being drafted by the Giants as a second-rounder in 2022. Robinson is coming off a 1000+-yard season in New York and is off to a rough start with just 7.7 total points in half-PPR scoring through the first two games. Cam Ward and his offense saw some improvement from the first to the second contest, so hopefully they keep it rolling this week so that Robinson can get some retribution on his former squad.

Kendrick Bourne (ARI) @ San Francisco

Kendrick Bourne had two stints with the 49ers, first from 2017-2020 and then again just last season. He's seen more targets so far in 2026 than Marvin Harrison Jr. (11 to 4) and is on the field for a hearty 64% of the snaps for Arizona. He's likely not fantasy relevant, but if you're already in a pinch, he could see an uptick based on the matchup and be startable over some others in that WR5 range.

Joshua Palmer (BUF) vs. Chargers

No one wants to get back on the Joshua Palmer train, as we've been there, done that, and I get it. However, he has quietly scored a touchdown in each game so far and is facing his former Chargers team that's in disarray as a member of a highly functional Buffalo offense. Palmer is only on 4% of Yahoo rosters, so there aren't many of you even debating him this week, but he could be a sneaky play if you're desperate.

Jonnu Smith (GB) vs. Falcons

He didn't see any targets last week after being thrown to three times in Week 1, and it's doubtful Jonnu Smith gets much more than a revenge target or two at home against Atlanta this week. The narrative isn't really that strong considering the TE is on his sixth team in 10 years and was only a Falcon for the 2023 season. Keep looking elsewhere.
