Week 7 Revenge Games: 4 Players Out to Torch Their Ex-Teams

It’s October, which means spooky season for many. I admittedly have never been a fan of horror movies, especially ones featuring realistic scenarios. My perceived fear and ignorance surrounding the vastness of the genre kept me from an entire subsection that has become a mild obsession over the last few weeks, B Horror movies.

I have watched close to 10 of these incredible masterpieces in a short period of time, and one thing I’ve noticed besides the hilarious one-liners, the cheesy gore, and silly premises is a running theme of revenge in most of them.

Revenge is always on the minds of those done dirty, and not all NFL players who changed teams were necessarily wronged, but we have to assume some sort of vengeance lies within.

I outlined what I found from 10 years of data in the article Revenge Games: 10 Years of Data on Fantasy Breakouts vs. Former Teams, and this weekly article dives into who’s seeking retribution each week.

Before I get into this week's revengers, let’s look at how Week 6 shook out:

Quarterback

Carson Wentz vs. Eagles

It's still unclear which QB will be under center for the Vikings this week, but if it's Carson Wentz, he'll be facing the team that selected him second overall in the 2016 NFL Draft. In five years with the Eagles, Wentz threw for 16,811 yards and 113 touchdowns, with 50 interceptions. He won Super Bowl LII in 2017 and boasted the highest quarterback rating that season at 78.6. Philly isn't exactly soft at defending QBs in 2025, but consider Wentz a solid QB2 this week with revenge in mind.

Running Back

Nyheim Hines vs. Colts

He's still on the practice squad as of this writing, but Nyheim Hines was elevated last week and was used primarily on special teams, where he posted 97 yards on three kickoff returns. The Chargers are scrambling at RB, so Hines could see some more opportunity based on possible retribution, as he was a member of the Colts from 2018-2021. This is only a very, very deep play, or if you're in a league with return yards.

Wide Receiver

Lil'Jordan Humphrey @ Broncos

Speaking of teams thin at positions, the Giants are down quite a few WRs, and Lil'Jordan Humphrey is looking like he could get some run this week in Denver. Humphrey was a Bronco from 2023- 2024 and returns to the Mile High City on Sunday afternoon. I doubt many of you will need to start him, but in a massive league, he's as good a dart throw as anyone else and will be out for some payback.

Tight End

Evan Engram vs. Giants

He began his NFL career in New York as a Giant from 2017-2021 before a three-year stint in Jacksonville. Evan Engram is now in Denver and gets to face the team that drafted him 23rd overall. He's healthy, coming off a Week 6 contest as Denver's lead receiver, and gets a Giants defense that just surrendered 21.5 in half-PPR scoring to Dallas Goedert. Add in the revenge factor, and this could be a solid week for Engram.
