Week 3 of the NFL season wraps up with an interconference showdown as the Lions visit the Ravens in Baltimore. Oddsmakers have Baltimore as a 4.5-point home favorite, with a lofty total of 53.5 points. Both teams sit at 1-1 and carry championship aspirations. After each reached the conference championship two seasons ago and then fell in the divisional round last year, both franchises are eager to prove they’re still on an upward trajectory.

Baltimore’s offense runs through quarterback Lamar Jackson, who has six touchdown passes in the first two games. He’s running less than a year ago – just eight carries so far – but still owns 83 rushing yards and a score. Jackson has spread the ball around, with four different wide receivers already catching touchdown passes, though no running back or tight end has yet reached the end zone through the air. The Lions can also lean on the run with Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, or attack through the air with Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and tight end Sam LaPorta.

These two teams finished first (Baltimore) and second (Detroit) in total yards on offense last year and finished first (Detroit) and third (Baltimore) in points per game, which is the driving factor for the hefty 53.5-point total.
