Week 15 Revenge Games: 6 Players Out to Torch Their Ex-Teams

I've wanted to write about Lorena Bobbitt since I started this column, and I guess this is finally the week. For those who aren't familiar, Bobbitt severed the penis of her then-husband, John Wayne Bobbitt, with a kitchen knife while he slept back in June of 1993. Her case became a huge media circus, which began as tabloid fodder but later became a moment for a change in how the public viewed domestic violence and women's rights. Shockingly, the couple didn't divorce until 1995, and of course, there have been several movies, mini-series, books, and actual merchandise created surrounding this story of marital revenge.

Revenge is always on the minds of those done dirty, and not all NFL players who changed teams were necessarily wronged, but we have to assume some sort of vengeance lies within. I outlined what I found from 10 years of data in the article Revenge Games: 10 Years of Data on Fantasy Breakouts vs. Former Teams, and this weekly article dives into who’s seeking retribution each week.

Matthew Stafford vs. Lions

It's been a surprising renaissance of sorts for 37-year-old Matthew Stafford in 2025, as he's the overall QB4 and the QB5 in fantasy points per game through 14 weeks. This week, he faces the team that traded him after being their signal caller from 2009 to 2020. The Lions sit 27th in schedule-adjusted fantasy points to opposing QBs this season, and this contest features the highest over/under in the Week 15 slate at 55 points. Stafford should produce as a top 5 QB this week in this retribution contest.

Jared Goff @ Rams

On the other side of that trade was Jared Goff, who was shipped to LA after being a Ram from 2016 to 2020. Goff is the QB10 overall and the QB11 on a per-game basis and should keep it rolling this week. While he doesn't usually produce as well on the road, this tilt has shootout potential, and the revenge factor could also enhance his outcome as a fantasy QB1.

Stefon Diggs vs. Bills

He's been the victim of game script for a few weeks, but Stefon Diggs has a chance at redemption this week against one of his former teams, the Bills. The Patriots are on a tear as they've won 10 straight contests, and Diggs should be considered a fantasy WR2 at home against Buffalo's middling defensive unit in WR aFPA.
