Week 1 Fantasy Football Sneaky Starts & Sleepers

It’s early, but given the injuries to Cooper Kupp, Travis Kelce, and Jonathan Taylor, it’s apparently never too early.

All but the luckiest fantasy owners at some point need to find the proverbial diamond in the rough—a waiver wire or bench player capable of putting up some points in a pinch. Sam Howell, Commanders (vs. ARI)

In the 2023 preseason, Sam Howell posted an impressive 28-for-37 for 265 yards (7.16 YPA), three touchdowns, and zero interceptions, and added four runs for 25 yards. He secured the QB1 job in the process. Last season, the Cardinals yielded the ninth-most passing yards and the second-most passing touchdowns to the opposition.
