Fantasy Football Quarterback Streaming Week 6: Keep Rolling With Geno Smith

After a disastrous TNF, we deserved a high-scoring day of football on Sunday. At least three games were close to or over 50 points. But, more importantly, there were a few lesser-rostered quarterbacks who wound up in the Top 12 giving us some streaming options for Week 6.

Week 5 Results

It was a better week in Week 5. There aren’t as many ceiling plays, but I’m not surprised at the results for the top options. However, the deeper picks were somewhat befuddling.

Depending on your site, a player with quarterback eligibility facing the Seahawks scored 34.1 points. He also led his positional group in fantasy points. However, he wasn’t the starter.

Taysom Hill wrecked the slate with two rushing touchdowns and tacked on a passing score. In retrospect, I should’ve seen this coming. Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry were out. Chris Olave exited early. Given their situation, it was a prime breakout spot for the Saints’ most-dynamic player.

Even without Olave’s injury, the team needed more options on offense, and Hill was their best bet. As a result, it changes how we (I) will approach New Orleans’ passing attack in the future. We must always be ready for the Taysom Hill package.

Geno Smith (Seahawks) vs. Cardinals

The Seahawks’ early-season schedule made Geno Smith a tough evaluation. Well, maybe it was easy for some. He excelled when expected and looked less confident against good defenses. But even I’ve oversimplified Smith’s highs and lows through five weeks. Let’s start with the lows.

There’s really just one low point. Smith faced the 49ers (10.5 aFPA, 4th) in Week 2. We didn’t know how tough San Francisco’s defensive unit would be. So, the assumption was it was more of the same from Smith after a big win to start the season. But DeMeco Ryans has a crew of monsters at his disposal.
