Streaming Tight Ends: Week 14 Targets

We made it, despite the ridiculously brutal season for tight ends. Either you’re here because you made the postseason or you’re still fighting in a league with later playoffs. Either way, let’s wade through the best tight end options in Week 14.

For streaming purposes, 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) is a metric we rely heavily on to determine weekly matchup strength. As the season continues to progress and more data is available, aFPA becomes more and more reliable, using rolling 10-week data. Targets and efficiency metrics are also considered when choosing weekly streamers.

In Week 13, my two best streamers were Logan Thomas and Cole Kmet, whose 20.3 and 12.2 half-PPR points finished the week as TE3 and TE6, respectively. So far, 4for4’s optimal streamer boasts 178 total points—good enough for the overall fantasy TE2 on the season.

Logan Thomas (Football Team) @ 49ers

Coming off a career contest (9-98-1) against the Steelers Monday afternoon, Logan Thomas doesn’t have the greatest matchup this week, but is still in the streaming conversation. Alex Smith has leaned on Thomas, particularly in third-down situations, and he’s proven a reliable weapon. Logan has been perfect in back to back contests, hauling in 13-of-13 balls tossed his way.

This week won’t be super easy against the 49ers' third-ranked defense in TE aFPA, but considering how volatile the position is, Thomas’s floor makes him a reliable streaming option. At 40% rostership on Yahoo!, he’s right at the cutoff line for Week 14.
