DraftKings Week 13 Slate Breakdown with Cash and GPP Picks

Below you'll find my Week 13 DraftKings cash game and tournament strategies. By offering a general approach to the week, along with a player pool to consider, you should walk away feeling well-equipped no matter your bankroll strategy or game selection process.

Sunday morning update: The waiving of Kareem Hunt changes roster construction quite a bit. Spencer Ware becomes the best value play of the day and a can’t miss free square. Depending on which running back you move off of, I’d recommend keeping two studs with Ware, you can use the extra cap space to upgrade at wide receiver or even try to get up to Patrick Mahomes.

Main Slate Cash Game Strategy

Quarterback

Cam Newton ($6,600) continues to be very consistent, eclipsing 21 fantasy points in six of his last seven games. He adds about six fantasy points per week from his rushing totals on average. The Panthers have an implied point total of 31 points and are facing the second-worst defense in terms of schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. The Buccaneers have allowed the sixth-most passing yards and the second-most points scored in the league, as well. Newton checks all the boxes we want from a cash game quarterback. When I discuss Newton, I often mention the fact that the Panthers like to do a lot of unorthodox play calling in the red zone, like fullback dives and wide receiver reverses. It's only been an issue on two occasions this year, but he is subject to a higher rate of touchdown variance than other quarterbacks.
