Squirrel Patrol’s Week 18 NFL Main Slate DFS GPP Picks
The last week of the NFL regular season is here, and as always, we have a mix of different motivations, contract incentives, and games that actually matter to the playoff seeding. While the injury list is too long to go through in full, teams like Philadelphia seem to be ready to rest their starters, while other teams like the Rams could pull their starters at any point during the game. I’m much more skeptical of Questionable players suiting up this week than any other week during the season, and I’ll always lean towards younger players getting a longer leash in these situations than veterans.
The main slates for the last week of the regular season can play out more like an NFL preseason DFS slate than a regular classic slate, as player news and coach statements will drive our plays more than projections or the game lines. That being said, three games have a total over 47.0 points – TEN/JAX (47.5), DAL/NYG (49.5), and DET/CHI (50.5). Six other games have a total under 40.0 points, each of them with at least one team playing a backup QB – IND/HOU (38.5), GB/MIN (37.5), NYJ/BUF (37.5), WAS/PHI (38.5), LAC/DEN (37.5), and KC/LV (36.5). While this week will be unpredictable, I’ll let the game totals be a guide and will go overweight players from the high-total games where it makes sense.
Let’s break down the positions, spotlight some of the best DFS options, and map out a path to the top of the leaderboards.
