Jets RB Isaiah Crowell (toe, out) missed practice again Thursday. Elijah McGuire (ankle) took full practice reps Thursday after being limited Wednesday. With Crowell out, it’s looking likely that McGuire serves as the RB1 against the Texans. It’s a bad matchup, but McGuire should see a sizable workload after turning 20 touches into 83 yards and a touchdown against the Bills last week. Houston has yielded just 40 rushing yards per game (on 2.65 YPC) to opposing running backs in the last four games, though they’ve given up an average 42 receiving yards to the position in the same span. McGuire is more than capable as a receiver—he has 11 catches for 90 yards in five games played, so he holds more value in PPR formats than in standard this week.
