The Broncos are strongly considering having QB Russell Wilson sit for the final two games, preserving financial flexibility for the offseason.

Wilson has $37M in 2025 salary that vests in March of 2024, and if he suffered a serious injury, it would complicate matters.

Well this is quite the bombshell. The Broncos have a very good fantasy matchup coming up this weekend, as Wilson was in-line for a face-off against a pedestrian Chargers defense. As part of the discussions that took place over the last few days, both sides concluded that it was best Raiders QB Derek Carr step away.

Carr will not be around for the Raiders final two games, a move that appears to solidify Carr is no longer in the Raiders plans going forward. Reports have come out recently the team will either cut or trade their former starting QB after this season. It was announced earlier today that Stidham would start the finals two games with the Raiders barely alive for a playoff berth.

The Raiders are benching quarterback Derek Carr, per head coach Josh McDaniels. Jarrett Stidham will start the final two games of the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Before the official benching today, many were speculating such a move was in the works, and would mean the Raiders move on from Carr in the offseason - so keeping Carr healthy between now and then was vital. This certainly seems like where we're headed after recent meltdowns over the past several games. The Raiders are still mathematically alive for a playoff berth but need to win out and get help. It looks like Stidham will have to be the one to get the Raiders there.
