Jets RB Braelon Allen, who was ruled out last night with a knee injury, suffered an MCL sprain that will likely land him on Injured Reserve, sources say. Allen is expected to receive additional opinions.

Fantasy Impact:

Davis got a little bit of run in Week 4, but it's not likely to be enough to put him on fantasy radars. Hall should continue to be valued as a borderline RB1 option with Allen not a threat to steal short-yardage touches away from the do-it-all back.

Braelon Allen received 28% of the running-back carries last season, and that number will increase in 2025. The Jets want to be a run-oriented offense and, while Breece Hall will likely get the most touches, the plan is to give Allen a bigger role. Head coach Aaron Glenn loves his power and downhill running style.

Fantasy Impact:

This falls in line with the whispers around the Jets' backfield all offseason, including rumors earlier in the year that the team might have been trying to move on from Hall. Allen profiles as the rare handcuff option, and also has a little standalone value if the team can keep games close this season.

The Jets ran the ball less than any team last season. The biggest reason for that (Aaron Rodgers) is gone. It would not shock me if the Jets went from last to first in terms of rushing attempts — the product of a run-first scheme led by offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand, and the dynamic, dual-threat quarterbacking of Justin Fields in the fray. The Jets are modeling their offense after the one Engstrand and Aaron Glenn came from in Detroit, where, in theory at least, Breece Hall would play the Jahmyr Gibbs role while Braelon Allen would step in as the David Montgomery, power-running type. — Zack Rosenblatt

Fantasy Impact:

Those are pretty big expectations, but the thought of it is exciting. Rosenblatt went on to say Allen was a training camp breakout last year who never got a chance to get going in a bad offense, but he’ll have plenty of opportunities in 2025 to make his mark and prove he can be the long-term starter with Hall in the last year of his contract.

They are "hopeful" for CB D.J. Reed. CB Brandin Echols is doubtful.

KR/RB Kene Nwangwu will be put on IR with a broken hand.

This comes as quite a bit of a surprise and could easily mean he plays in a limited role, which really muddies up the whole situation. If that's the case, this backfield may be an entire avoid with no bye weeks in the first round of Fantasy Playoffs, with Hall falling somewhere in the RB2-RB3 range.
