Bears LB Lance Briggs had an MRI on Monday, and the initial test confirmed he suffered a mild left knee sprain.

Briggs, who also banged his hip, could have returned to Sunday's game, so expect him to play against the Rams.

Smith is hopeful that cornerback Charles Tillman will be ready to go coming off a mild concussion and that defensive end Alex Brown will be OK after bruising his lower right leg. Defensive tackle Israel Idonije also bruised his lower leg.
