Wide receiver Pierre Garcon was back at practice Sunday, suggesting he will be available for the Colts' third preseason game, at Green Bay on Thursday.

Garcon has missed both preseason games with an undisclosed injury.

Josh McDaniels said the Raiders will meet this morning to discuss the status of TE Darren Waller and WR Hunter Renfrow, who are both eligible to come back from injured reserve this week. He sounded concerned about the idea of playing them without the opportunity to practice.

Sources: Doctors concluded today that 49ers' QB Jimmy Garoppolo does not need foot surgery, it is not a Lisfranc injury, and if rehab goes smoothly, he could have a chance to return in 7-8 weeks, making him a potential playoff contributor.

Seven weeks from Sunday's game would put Jimmy G possibly back on the field Jan. 22, which would be the second round of the playoffs assuming the 49ers make it and win in the opening round. New quarterback Baker Mayfield, who became a member of the team at 4:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday night, could play on Thursday night, when the Rams host the Raiders.

Mayfield was rumored to be heading to San Francisco, but other rumors said the Rams would scoop him up to stick it to their division rivals. Others said the Rams have several prime time games coming up over the finals weeks of the season and Mayfield could be a way to keep interest in the fan base. Wolford is also dealing with some injuries so there is also a need with Perkins pretty much unproven. No matter what the reason, Mayfield is a Ram, and it's possible he jumps right into action on Thursday night, although it's probably a longshot. The team did send Mayfield the playbook to study on the way to LA, according to the story.
