The Eagles have paid another big-time, rising player. This time, WR DeVonta Smith gets a 3-year, $75M contract extension that includes $51M guaranteed.

Great news for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense as a whole. Smith will continue his 1b role in which he finished the 2023 season as fantasy's WR22.

The Eagles removed WR DeVonta Smith from the injury report Saturday.

Smith was dealing with a knee injury but he is good to go for Monday's divisional showdown with the Giants. The Eagles hope to get their offense back on track in a key game on Christmas Day. That should include getting Smith back involved in the offense.

DeVonta Smith hadn’t been practicing in full because of a knee injury. This latest inclusion on the report is for a new knee injury he suffered in the game.

A.J. Brown could me in for a monster workload as the Eagles begin the easiest stretch of their season. None of the receiving options behind him should be trusted if Smith were to miss this week.

ESPN's Eagles reporter Tim McManus cites a trend of heavily-targeted practices for A.J. Brown, "especially with DeVonta Smith sidelined with a groin injury."

For how understandably worried fantasy managers are about a potential lack of a passing game, it's encouraging that we may still get WR1 usage for Brown. Where that leaves DeVonta Smith, or even Dallas Goedert is yet to be determined. We currently have Brown ranked right on the WR1/WR2 fringe due to volume concerns.

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed WR Zach Pascal to a one-year deal.

The Pascal signing gives the Eagles a possession wideout that has had success, as well as competition for Jalen Reagor. Pascal is nothing more than a late-round dart throw short of an injury.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts and RB Miles Sanders were limited Wednesday due to ankle injuries. RB Boston Scott and WR DeVonta Smith missed practice with non-COVID illnesses.

Scott and Smith should be good, so the injuries to monitor are Hurts and Sanders.

Eagles actually waived Travis Fulgham, per Mike Garafolo.

Petersen said he didn't see this coming, and doubts Fulgham clears waivers so the Eagles can keep him on the practice squad. Fulgham flashed for a couple of weeks last year, but pretty much vanished with the return of Alshon Jeffery. He never really was able to find that form again. It's likely good news for Ward, Hightower and maybe even Arcega-Whiteside.

DeVonta Smith getting back to team reps is a big deal. Very positive news for the Eagles.

Smith was limited Monday so he continues to improve. The Eagles offense had a nice day against the Patriots defense on Monday in live drills, and that was without Smith in the lineup. Since 2010, the seven receivers drafted inside the first 10 picks who played at least 13 games have seen an average of 113 targets as rookies. Moreover, they’ve averaged 61 catches for 915 yards and 6.9 touchdowns. This is the sort of production we're expecting from Smith.

DeVonta Smith (knee) is limited today.

The tweet added Smith is at least participating in individual drills. He's dressed in full pads as well, but the Birds are doing joint practices today with the Patriots. It's at least good news he's making his way back.

"Quez Watkins. Quez is having an awesome camp, making plays down the field. He's been consistent. He's been working hard on and off the field. I'm going to keep working him and helping him reach his potential," said Eagles DB Darius Slay.

Slay isn't the only one who has praised Watkins as of late, the beat writers are noticing too. A recent story by NBC Sports Philly said, "Watkins has been the best overall receiver at Eagles training camp this summer and just had a tremendous night in front of nearly 26,000 Eagles fans on Sunday at the Linc." The only real lock at WR is Smith for the Eagles, who is still trying to find his way back on the practice field. So, it's easy to think Watkins will get a chance to make contributions if he keeps up this pace.
