The Bills designated receiver John Brown to return from injured reserve Tuesday, according to the NFL’s transactions report.

Bills coach Sean McDermott said Monday that Brown was ready to return to practice this week. The move opens a 21-day window for the team to activate Brown back to the active roster, the story said. Davis has filled in nicely with Brown out, but adding Brown for games down the stretch should give a little boost to Allen's fantasy value.

In a game where the Bills struggled to move the ball through the air, rookie Gabriel Davis was one of the lone bright spots. His highlight-reel 44-yard reception showed that he can make difficult catches in contested situations and can be a dependable, field-stretching target for Josh Allen.

With Brown now on the IR, Davis has a chance to step up. The story also went on to say the Bills could save over $8 million by releasing Brown (who turns 31 in April) in the offseason, one that’s expected to be cap-strapped. The only reason they would do that is if they knew they had a solid X-receiver player to replace Brown, which is where Davis comes into play.

Overall, the Bills revived their run game Sunday. But at what cost? The Bills are at their best on offense when throwing the ball and making the attack run through Josh Allen, and it never seemed in sync Sunday. Allen never got on the same page with Stefon Diggs except for some forced short-yardage targets. Cole Beasley was essentially a non-factor other than his touchdown throw.

The Bills can still be an impactful running team without having a balanced approach. The story also said it’s all about the timing of run calls and the effectiveness of them and the run game likely will not be the reason the Bills have success in the playoffs. While it's just the author's view and the Bills may see things different, it's perhaps something to keep in mind, especially if you're a Moss or Singletary owner.

Cole Beasley will continue to be valuable if teams continue to take away the deep part of the field against the Bills. Josh Allen targeted him 12 times against the Jets, and Beasley hauled in 11 of those passes.

As the story said, Allen doesn’t have a security blanket at tight end and the Bills don’t have a superstar running back coming out of the backfield. Stefon Diggs is a go-to receiver, but on the underneath routes Allen knows he can rely on Beasley to find the openings in zone coverage and be where he needs to be. Allen attempted 33 passes within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage and 39 passes within 15 yards of the line of scrimmage, the story went on to say.

Josh Allen’s shoulder will be a topic of conversation, but he already said he’ll play through the pain.

The story went on to say it may impact his ability to run and take hits, but Allen said it won’t limit him much given it’s his non-throwing shoulder. Allen looked good when he got into the facility Monday morning, the story added.
