Kubiak: C.J. Anderson, Ronnie Hillman to split carries

The Denver Broncos will not live the fantasy life at running back.

In other words, those eye-balling the Broncos’ situation at running back may not like what they see if it’s all about fantasy football. Because Broncos’ coach Gary Kubiak has other things on his mind and fully intends to keep dividing the carries evenly between C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman.

Why? Because when the games have been played over the season’s first four weeks, Hillman has earned a bigger slice of the workload.

“We’ll keep going the way we’re going, I think of them both as starters to be honest with you,’’ Kubiak said. “I know somebody has to walk out there on play No. 1, but they’ll both play, probably right down the middle.’’

Fantasy Impact:

In Sunday’s 23-20 win over the Minnesota Vikings, it was exactly down the middle as Anderson and Hillman each got 11 carries in the game. Hillman turned his into 103 rushing yards, including a 72-yard touchdown run, while Anderson finished with 43 yards. That's been the trend so far this season and Hillman is making the most of his touches. Just based on how the season has gone so far, Hillman has much more upside if the two have equal work. As the story said, Hillman seems more comfortable in the Broncos offense and that's really been the case since preseason.
