Jordy Nelson expected to return to practice on Thursday

Rams WR Davante Adams injured his hamstring Sunday against the Lions and head coach Sean McVay sounded pessimistic about his chances of playing Thursday against the Seahawks.

The Rams avoided a scare when Puka Nacua only suffered cramps, otherwise the Rams could have been down their top two wide receivers. They could be without Adams for a huge NFC West showdown in Seattle Thursday but McVay did say he “certainly wouldn’t rule him out yet.” It’s a tough turnaround on a short week so we’ll keep an eye out. Adams caught four passes for 71 yards in the 41-34 win over the Lions.

An MRI Sunday confirmed a torn ACL for Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, the team announced.

Mahomes tweeted, "Don't know why this had to happen. And not going to lie it hurts. But all we can do is trust in God and attack every single day over and over again. Thank you Chiefs kingdom for always supporting me and for everyone who has reached out and sent prayers. I will be back stronger than ever."

The Chiefs and Mahomes are exploring surgery options.

Sunday ended up a nightmare day for the Chiefs, losing their star quarterback and being eliminated from playoff contention at 6-8. Gardner Minshew came on in relief and went 3-of-5 for 22 yards with an interception.

Rams WR Davante Adams went to the locker room after pulling up during a route in the fourth quarter.

Adams was running a deep route and began limping before the ball arrived. He was down for a few moments as trainers tended to him. He was able to walk off the field and into the locker room. He is questionable to return.
