Jets shut down WR Garrett Wilson for rest of 2025 season

Zay Flowers was noticeably absent from the Baltimore Ravens’ practice Tuesday, but the uncertainty surrounding the two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver did not last long. Flowers and the Ravens agreed to a four-year, $140 million contract extension that includes $108 million guaranteed, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported through Flowers’ agency, WIN Sports Group. The contract averages $35 million per season and represents Baltimore’s largest financial commitment to a wide receiver in franchise history.

Flowers was scheduled to play the 2026 season under the final year of his rookie contract. The Ravens had also exercised his fifth-year option for 2027, but general manager Eric DeCosta repeatedly expressed confidence that the two sides would complete a long-term agreement before the regular season, the story said. The No. 22 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft has developed into the most productive homegrown wide receiver in franchise history. Flowers has recorded 237 receptions for 3,128 yards and 14 touchdowns through his first three seasons, earning Pro Bowl selections in 2024 and 2025. His 1,211 receiving yards last season established a Ravens single-season record for a wide receiver, the story went on to say. From a fantasy standpoint, we feel touchdowns will be a big factor to his fantasy success this season, since TE Mark Andrews is a red zone target and RB Derrick Henry often gets his chances as well.

Jets first-round pick Kenyon Sadiq is not practicing on Tuesday for the third straight day and head coach Aaron Glenn said in his press conference that the rookie tight end will miss more time.

Glenn said, per multiple reporters, that Sadiq will be out “a little bit” after suffering a setback in his recovery from hernia surgery. Sadiq, who was the 16th overall pick in April, had the procedure in May.

Sadiq is probably more known in dynasty leagues right now, but was likely going to be a later-round pick in redraft leagues after the Jets drafted him this past spring. The good news is Glenn added that he is “very confident” that Sadiq will be available for the team’s Week 1 road date with the Titans, however, the missed time now could cost him more playing time early on this season. We have him ranked 21st among our TEs.

In the Cleveland quarterback competition between Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson, there could be a third candidate creeping up on the outside.

Dillon Gabriel, drafted two rounds before Sanders in 2025, is performing well enough to earn more chances to perform.

“I said it the other day, everybody’s competing, but you’re not guaranteed the same amount of reps,” coach Todd Monken told reporters on Monday. “So it’s up to the player to take advantage and maximize those reps, which I feel like Dillon has done. So we’ll see as we move forward, if that continues, we’ll continue to up his reps. He’s earned that. That’s what every player should expect, right? If they play well, you have to up the reps, or what’s the purpose of playing well?”

Watson and Sanders are certainly not locks to be the QB1 at this point, although Watson's salary may be a factor in the end. But the Browns have no other reason not to give the job to the best player. This will be a battle in camp to watch since the Browns are collecting some offensive talent to support whoever wins the job. At the very least, it's a wake-up call to Watson and Sanders.
