Owen Daniels passed a physical Friday and signed his one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens.
“Just couldn’t be more happy, more excited. … I guarantee his role will be plenty big,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. “He’s going to have a lot to do with our success next year, and we’ve got a lot of big plans for him.”
Gary Kubiak’s offense with the Texans featured a lot of two-tight end sets. With Daniels now in the mix to go along with Dennis Pitta, Daniels said to “look for more of that in the future.”
“We’ve got the guys here to do it, and that makes things tough for defenses,” Daniels said.
Look for the Ravens to run a lot of two-TE sets taking advantage of both Pitta and Daniels. We still like Pitta's upside in Kubiak's offense, but the arrival of Daniels does take some of the wind out of Pitta's sails.
