Giants Beat: Door seems open to QB change

Brian Daboll stopped short of announcing a quarterback change Monday, but he also notably would not rule out replacing Russell Wilson with prized rookie Jaxson Dart this week against the Chargers.

Daboll’s series of non-committal answers open up an intriguing week for the Giants, who are off to an ugly 0-3 start following Sunday night’s 22-9 loss to the Chiefs.

“We are evaluating everything right now,” Daboll said Monday on a Zoom call. “We’re working through all personnel decisions and we’ll do that over the next few days.

“We’re doing what we normally do…We’re going through the tape and I’d say we’re evaluating everything.”

Fantasy Impact:

The story feels Daboll’s answers were interesting in that he committed to Wilson when asked similar questions one day after a Week 1 loss to the Commanders. We broke it down earlier today that the Giants schedule doesn't really ease up until November, so some who follow the team felt that was a better timeframe to make a QB change. However, that seems pretty late in the game, and with the team off to an 0-3 start, a change seems likely to come before that, especially if the offensive struggles continue.
