Bucs CB Aqib Talib charged with battery, resisting arrest

Tampa Bay Bucs cornerback Aqib Talib posted a cash bail early this morning after he was jailed on charges of resisting arrest without violence and simple battery, both misdemeanors.

The Pinellas County jail booking sheet said Talib posted a total of $300 bail to be released from jail.

The report said the 23-year-old starting cornerback was arrested in Pinellas County by Florida Highway Patrol troopers. He was booked into the jail shortly before 1 a.m. and released just after 6 a.m., the report said.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol arrest report, the incident took place about 11:10 p.m. Wednesday at Gandy Boulevard and Interstate 275 (State Road 93) in Pinellas County.

Talib struck David Duggan in the right ear and neck with a closed fist, causing bodily harm, according to the report. While in a taxi, Talib was asked three times by Trooper John Ryan to exit the vehicle but "was uncooperative, without offering or doing violence," the report stated.
