Andrew Luck retiring from football

Colts QB Andrew Luck has unexpectedly decided to retire from the NFL and has a press conference set for Sunday to officially announce his decision.

Fantasy Impact:

This was absolutely out of nowhere and one of those stories that you almost have to double check that it’s actually Schefter tweeting the news. But it is true. Schefter says Luck has already met with owner Jim Irsay regarding his decision. Luck was not expected to play Week 1, and there was no indication of when he would return. But as it turns out, there will be no return as Schefter reports Luck, 29 years of age, has become mentally worn down. We wish Luck all the best in his retirement. Jacoby Brissett is now officially the starting quarterback in Indianapolis and all other fantasy options for the Colts certainly get bumped down a notch or two.
