RB Mike Tolbert signs 4-year deal with Panthers

RB Mike Tolbert agrees to 4-year deal with Panthers.

Fantasy Impact:

The Panthers appear intent on cornering the running back market. Last summer the Panthers inked DeAngelo Williams to a 5-year, $43M contract. The Panthers also have Jonathan Stewart for one more year on his rookie deal, not to mention second-year QB Cam Newton who ran for over 700 yards and 14 TDs in his rookie season. Enter Mike Tolbert, a former Chargers running-back who excels in short-yardage and goal line situations as well as the passing game.

It is logical to assume the Panthers will look to deal Jonathan Stewart and move forward with Mike Tolbert and DeAngelo Williams in their backfield. If all three remain on the roster come fantasy draft time, this should be a hands-off situation with far too many mouths to feed. Workload was already a problem for Panthers rushers before the addition of Tolbert.
