Perfect Fantasy Draft: 2nd in a 12-team ESPN PPR League
Jahmyr Gibbs is almost certainly the first player off the board this season. But if you don’t get him, does that mean the draft is over? Absolutely not. The No.2 pick presents a great chance to build a roster your league mates will fear and make the Gibbs manager wish they’d gone in a different direction.
In this article, I will walk through my favorite players in each round that should be available to me based on ESPN ADP from the No. 2 spot in a 12-team Half-PPR league.

My Plan of Attack When Drafting 3rd
Roster Settings: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (WR/RB/TE), 1 Kicker, 1 DEF, 6 bench spots
- Look to lock down RBs early - The running back talent pool dries up a lot quicker than the wide receiver one. I’m looking to come away with two solid running backs with my first three picks, then attack wide receiver.
- Look for Receiving Leaders - I intend to add a lot of wide receivers to my roster. I’ll be looking to add as many players as possible that should command the bulk of their team's targets. Running backs and tight ends with a strong receiving profile won’t go amiss, either.
- Leave Kickers and Defenses until the very end of the draft - these are not positions of high priority in fantasy, and a strong case can be made that weekly streaming at these spots is a viable strategy for success. You should ensure that all of your starting spots and at least a few of your backup players are filled before you even contemplate picking a kicker.
Round 1, Pick 2 (2) - RB Bijan Robinson
Bijan Robinson is not a bad consolation prize if you fail to land Jahmyr Gibbs. He has averaged 21.1 PPR points per game over the last two seasons, commanding 22.5 opportunities per outing. Robinson leads all backs with 243 targets and 186 receptions since 2023. If Captain Checkdown Tua Tagovailoa holds onto the starting job in Atlanta, Robinson and Kyle Pitts should be force-fed targets. This is one of the safest picks in all of fantasy football in 2026.
