Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 1
Whether you drafted your team months ago or just last weekend, there are probably some decisions you regret. Maybe a surprise injury or a roster move you didn’t see coming made you second-guess a pick, or perhaps you’ve realized there’s a weak spot on your roster. No matter what’s causing the doubts, the waiver wire is your prescribed fix. In most leagues, the waiver wire opens prior to the Week One kickoff and is your chance to get ahead of the breakouts and depth chart shifts that no one saw coming.
I’ll be here each week for a breakdown of the top waiver wire targets and players it’s time to get off your squad. For this year, the recommended additions will be available in more than 40% of Yahoo fantasy football leagues, while the Drop List will consist of players rostered in at least 50% of leagues. Each position group will also include a Watch List. If your league is deeper with larger rosters, this is the spot for you.
The Overall Top 10 is prioritized by typical league settings and roster construction, with room for adjustment based on your league’s rules and format. This is how I would order the top waiver wire claims heading to Week 1.
Week One Top 10 Waiver Wire Targets
Note: If MarShawn Lloyd (79%), Mike Washington Jr. (56%), or Tyler Allgeier (48%) are available, they are the top targets ahead of Week 1.
