Best Week 8 Prophet Exchange Bets

When you catch a team can play a huge factor in the handicap, based on the schedule or injury report, and both Prophet Exchange plays today are evidence of that. Prophet Exchange runs on peer-to-peer betting, so the benefit is passed on to the bettor with more forgiving juice. You can read here for more on the benefits of using a sports betting exchange like Prophet Exchange. Let’s see where the value lies in Week 8…

Week 8 Prophet Exchange Picks

Cowboys -9.5 vs Bears

*Betting on Prophet Exchange takes the juice from -107 to +100.

Chicago had their most impressive performance of the season on Monday night in their blowout win against New England, but it could not have been a better spot for the Bears, unlike this week against the Cowboys.

Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy used the break to come up with the best game plan of the year, but on a short week against the number one defense in EPA per play, a similar offensive performance would be an even greater feat. Against a talented and complicated Cowboys pass rush, the Bears are now down at least one starter with Lucas Patrick placed on I.R. and Larry Borom is in concussion protocol for the second time this season. Borom's chances of playing this week should be viewed as dim. Sam Mustipher took over for Patrick and had just been benched for Patrick, while Riley Reiff likely moves in at right tackle. Justin Fields, who tends to hold onto the ball, will have Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence bearing down on him most of the game and the defense with the third-best dropback EPA and eighth-best rush EPA waiting for him.

On the other side of the ball, Chicago just traded Robert Quinn to the Eagles, leaving the Bears with a rookie and second-year player at EDGE. Ezekiel Elliott may not play but many would not even view that as a downgrade. Dallas also gets another week with Dak Prescott and Dalton Schultz back in the fold and some of the explosion that the Cowboys missed in their absences has a higher probability of showing. The Bears' young secondary has shown signs but being required to maintain coverage longer without adequate pass rush should add to their difficulty.

49ers -1.5 @ Rams

*Betting on Prophet Exchange takes the juice from -105 to +100.

In their first matchup, the 49ers showed how much of a matchup problem they are for the Rams and now the recent injury issues for San Francisco seem to be clearing up. Three key pieces that have been injury-plagued this season—Nick Bosa, Trent Williams, and Jimmie Ward—are not on the injury report and will play this Sunday. They add to the ability to give a repeat performance at SoFi Stadium.

Offensively for San Francisco, getting Williams back is massive, and having Christian McCaffrey with a full week to prepare and learn the offense further should provide more versatility, or at least a very capable option if Deebo Samuel is not able to play with his hamstring issue. The 49ers have been the 10th-best offense by DVOA and considering the struggles of the Rams, the bar is not the highest to clear to be good enough for another win.

The Rams are looking to find any positive consistency but the injury report is hurting them in both directions. With Joe Noteboom out for the year and the Rams giving up the highest rate in the league, a pass rush led by Nick Bosa is not what the 31st-ranked offense in EPA per play needs. In the first meeting, Matthew Stafford was sacked seven times. The key will be giving Stafford enough time to make plays in the passing game, even with San Francisco’s secondary getting healthier. Darrell Henderson Jr. continues to miss practice as well. He has been the most trusted back so far this season, with Cam Akers looking for a new home and the Rams already woeful running the ball with the 32nd-ranked rush success rate.

The 49ers are built to exploit the issues the Rams have shown all year and there is little reason to think that will change on Sunday.
