Streaming Tight Ends: Week 3 Targets

Early-season injuries continued their assault on the fantasy landscape in Week 2, further continuing our need to keep our eyes on the streaming landscape across onesie positions. Lingering or new injury issues affected the playing times of Eric Ebron, Jonnu Smith, Anthony Firkser, and James O'Shaughnessy, with the latter two very likely to miss extended playing time. Both fantasy managers impacted by these injuries and those looking for fantasy production from the waiver wire are in luck, as below we’ll be digging through tight end streaming options in hopes of pegging players with the opportunity for TE1 production.

For streaming purposes, 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) is a metric we rely heavily on to determine weekly matchup strength. Since aFPA requires a minimum of three-to-four weeks of data to provide truly reliable results, in these early weeks, streaming options will be selected based on a combination of metrics, along with last season’s numbers. 4for4 rankings also come into play here and should always be considered when making league-specific roster decisions.

In order to provide advice you can actually implement, candidates for streaming must be rostered in no more than 40% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues.

Week 2 Review

It truly doesn’t get any worse than this, folks. In-game injuries knocked one of our deep plays out, injuries during the week limited another, and half of our top streamers had an injury at the quarterback position that limited his team to only 15 pass completions. That’s enough with making excuses, we’re here to make better decisions. We’re on to Week 3.
