Streaming Quarterbacks: Week 14 Fantasy Football Targets

If you’ve made it this far, congratulations. But we’re not done yet. It’s time for the fantasy playoffs for most of you. This is not a time to get conservative. Be smart, be data driven, but be aggressive. You have an entire season of QB streaming results here to give you all the confidence you need to pull the trigger.

Last week, we gave you three top-10 QBs with our recommendations of Josh McCown (QB2), Blake Bortles (QB3) and whoever started for the Bucs (Jameis Winston, QB8). They scored 31.1, 25.1 and 18.6 points, respectively.

That means we continue to increase our top pick average in 2017. For the season, our top streaming picks are now averaging 24.2 fantasy points per game. That’s ahead of what DeShaun Watson averaged as QB1 in fantasy points per game and more overall points than Russell Wilson has as the top healthy fantasy quarterback! The average of all of our streaming picks this season is more than what Josh McCown has scored as QB7 in total points.

Our standard for this exercise will always be to select only quarterbacks owned in 40 percent or fewer of Yahoo! leagues. We will use that standard as not to be accused of stretching the definition of “streamer” (plus, we like a challenge). It will also allow for similar potential on other sites.

We’ll focus on factors such as QB points per game, the opponent’s schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks (aFPA), and the Vegas implied team totals.

Here are those options for Week 14:

*Note: Josh McCown and Jameis Winston are owned in more than 40% of Yahoo! Leagues but fewer than 50%. They do not qualify for this exercise, based on the parameters we’ve used all season; however, they are the best options if they are still available or still on your roster from last week. I repeat. DO NOT START THE NAMES BELOW OVER McCown or Winston.

Jimmy Garoppolo (SF) @ HOU

In his debut against an above average defense on the road in Chicago, this handsome devil threw for more than 290 yards, something former 49ers starter C.J. Beathard did in just one of his six starts. This week, Garoppolo faces a Texans defense that has allowed the second most points to the quarterback position (19.1 per game) and is ranked just 30th in our aFPA against QBs. He didn’t have a touchdown last week, but the Texans have allowed more than two touchdowns per week since their bye week to opposing quarterbacks.

Garoppolo is owned in 16% of Yahoo! leagues.
