FanDuel Week 9 GPP Breakdown

Below, I'll focus on players I believe to be strong tournament plays based on multi-touchdown upside and low projected ownership. I won't blurb chalk plays (Tom Brady, Devonta Freeman, DeAngelo Williams, Alshon Jeffery, Odell Beckham, Malcom Floyd, Michael Crabtree, Rob Gronkowski, Antonio Gates, Stephen Gostkowski, and the Broncos) -- they're all justifiable GPP options -- particularly Brady and Freeman -- but you won't take home big money by stuffing your entire lineup with chalk. Use chalk plays selectively, a few at a time, filling out the rest of your lineup with a few players likely to be low-owned who have that multi-touchdown upside, allowing you to differentiate from the field and shoot up the leaderboard.

As usual, I draw heavily from my Ownership Outlook column, and all the players I highlight below are players I believe you should have more exposure to than the field. Since who you fade can be just as important as who you play in a GPP, I've also added a "Fades" section at the end where I briefly highlight any highly-owned players I believe you should have less exposure to than the field, or no exposure to at all.

Passing Game

Tyrod Taylor ($7,200) ranks fifth of among all players in per-game FanDuel scoring this season, yet is priced as the 16th-highest quarterback. What's more, he was only 2.5 percent owned on Thursday. The Dolphins pass defense was already trending downward before losing Cameron Wake. They allowed 282 yards and a TD to Titans QBs in Week 6, 273 yards and three TDs to Brian Hoyer in Week 7, and 356 yards and four TDs to Tom Brady in Week 8. Taylor completed 21-of-29 passes for 277 yards and three TDs in a Week 3 demolition of Miami. I'd prefer to play Taylor without a stack on FanDuel. Even though the Dolphins have struggled to defend the more prominent TEs they've faced, Charles Clay's TD upside may be capped, as he has drawn only one red zone target on the season.
