Waiver Wire Watch: Week 13
Here is a look at the top waiver wire pickups for Week 13. To be eligible for discussion, the player must be owned in 50% or fewer ESPN leagues, though I'll stretch the rules a bit for the RB position, which is usually very thin. I'll also include suggested bid prices (with a $100 budget) for those leagues that use Free Agent Acquisition Budgets. Of course, player value depends on league characteristics and team needs.

49ers QB Colin Kaepernick* ($10-$15, depending on need)
Kaepernick had a nice day against the Saints, throwing for 231 yards and a touchdown to go along with 27 rushing yards and rush TD. In the previous week against the Bears, he threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns. With three mediocre-to-nice matchups coming up, Kaepernick should be very startable down the stretch.

Rams QB Sam Bradford* ($3)
Bradford has thrown two touchdowns in three straight games, and all three matchups were against teams in the top seven in QB aFPA. That's impressive. This week he has the 49ers, but afterwards he faces the Bills, Vikings and Buccaneers.

Jaguars QB Chad Henne* ($3)
In the last two weeks, Henne has thrown for 615 yards, six touchdowns and just one interception against the Texans and the Titans. He has a great matchup with the Bills this week, and good matchups against the Dolphins and Patriots in Week 15 and Week 16.

Titans QB Jake Locker* ($2)
Locker was solid if unspectacular against the Jaguars on Sunday, throwing for 261 yards and a touchdown to go along with two picks. His closing schedule looks pretty good and he's a threat to score points with his feet as well as his arm.
Next up: Texans, Colts, Jets, Packers
Seahawks QB Russell Wilson* ($2)
Wilson has been exceptionally solid in the last four weeks, throwing at least two TDs in each game. But he has three tough matchups in the next four games, so buyer beware.

Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill ($1)
Tannehill is a tough guy to figure out. On the whole, he was not-so-good in three great matchups against the Colts, Titans and Bills (averaging 216 yards, 0.7 TDs and 1.7 INTs), but turned around and had a solid fantasy line (253 yards, a TD and 33 rushing yards) against a good Seahawks defense. This week he should have a nice game against the Patriots, who are #31 in QB aFPA.

Note: Michael Bush doesn't qualify because he's too widely owned, but if he were eligible, I'd put him below Moreno with a value of $15-$35, depending on the severity of Matt Forte's ankle injury. If Forte has a high-ankle sprain, Bush will likely start for the rest of the fantasy season.
Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno ($25-$35)
The Broncos created quite the stir on Sunday morning when word broke that Moreno was going to get a chance to start against the Chiefs. HC John Fox discussed Moreno during the week, but few took his words seriously since Moreno has been a healthy inactive for most of the season. However, the team obviously doesn't trust rookie Ronnie Hillman in pass protection and Moreno proved to be a capable all-around RB, gaining 111 total yards on 24 touches in Week 12. His upcoming schedule is favorable, so he could be penciled in as a RB2/flex down the stretch assuming he continues to start.
