FanDuel Week 6 Freeroll Contest: Looking for Value
John Paulsen, Contributing Editor
We're continuing our weekly $500 freerolls at FanDuel -- think you can beat our very own Josh Moore? If so, you'll win a cool $5, maybe more if you score big. All you have to do is assemble your team in FanDuel's weekly salary cap format. Enter now.
A few weeks ago we debuted a new tool for subscribers that identifies the best FanDuel values in any given week. The lower the $/Point, the better the value. Here are the first few rows of the table so you have an idea of what it's all about.
Let's take a look at the top 5 values at each position:
QBs
1. Aaron Rodgers ($401)
2. Andy Dalton ($404)
3. Cam Newton ($424)
4. Tony Romo ($434)
5. Tom Brady ($436)
Big names dominate the top 5 QB values this week -- take your pick. Dalton is the lone sub-$7000 QB in the top 10 due to his nice matchup with a suspect Colts defense.
RBs
1. Earnest Graham ($418)
2. Fred Jackson ($427)
3. Ahmad Bradshaw ($448)
4. Matt Forte ($473)
5. Ray Rice ($493)
It would be a good idea to pair Graham -- who figures to get most of the touches for the Buccaneers with LeGarrette Blount out -- with a higher priced value like those listed here. Bradshaw figures to have a great day against a banged-up Bills defense. The next best sub-$7000 player is Cedric Benson ($503), who has a great matchup with the Colts.
WRs
1. Wes Welker ($438)
2. A.J. Green ($454)
3. Dez Bryant ($485)
4. David Nelson ($487)
5. Calvin Johnson ($501)
Green is a top 20 WR and has a terrific matchup with the Colts, who have given up the second-most Adjusted FP to WRs this year. Nelson is something of a risky play given his lack of targets in recent weeks, but the Giants have been generous to WRs and the Bills are running out of options at WR.
TEs
1. Jimmy Graham ($503)
2. Jason Witten ($533)
3. Brandon Pettigrew ($572)
4. Rob Gronkowski ($582)
5. Owen Daniels ($592)
Graham is on fire right now and is a very nice start against the Bucs. Pettigrew is the cheapest ($5600) player on the list, but he has 21 catches for 215 yards and a TD in the last three weeks and Tony Scheffler is out this week due to injury.
