Originally Lindsay was said to have a shot to play in Week 17, but his season is now over as the injury is believed to be more serious. Lindsay was an undrafted free agent who turned into a Pro Bowler this year. Freeman should get a shot at a big workload against the Chargers in Week 17.

Running back Phillip Lindsay is optimistic that the injury he suffered to his right wrist is “probably just a sprain,” he said after the Broncos’ 27-14 loss to the Raiders.

He is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday, Head Coach Vance Joseph announced after the game.

Fantasy Impact:

Lindsay, who exited the game after a carry in the third quarter, said he would try to play in Week 17 against the Chargers, even though the Broncos don’t have playoff implications on the line. Freeman would likely have a bigger role in Week 17 if the Broncos hold out Lindsay.

Broncos RB Royce Freeman (ankle) took full practice reps again Friday. Freeman’s return will put a dent in Phillip Lindsay’s touches. Lindsay averaged 20.0 touches in the two games Freeman missed and just 12.9 touches in the seven games in which Freeman played. Lindsay is still a good RB2 option due to his overall efficiency in his touches.

The Broncos will get back running back Royce Freeman this weekend.

Fantasy Impact:

Freeman doesn't have much standalone value, but his presence should render Decontae Booker back to the waiver wire. It will also cut into Phillip Lindsey's upside. Lindsey goes from borderline RB1 to mid to low-end RB2.
