Chargers WR Keenan Allen is not on the field for the portion of practice open to reporters. Allen has not practiced all week because of his hamstring.

Fantasy Impact:

There's not much more to say about Keenan Allen's lower body injuries. Josh Palmer should operate as the Chargers' WR1 and carries moderate fantasy value, even in a great matchup against the Falcons. He should be considered a WR2/3, while DeAndre Carter is a speedy Flex consideration.

Staley said Keenan Allen's hamstring injury has not “responded the way that we hoped.”

Allen will not practice today and it’s possible he will miss Sunday’s game vs. Falcons, per Brandon Staley. Williams has a knee issue which means the Bolts could be looking at a two-top WR tandem of Palmer and Carter. Palmer has cleared protocol and will play in Week 9, according to other reports.

The good news is the Bolts have a bye this week, which should give Allen a chance to get healthy and ready for what will likely be a huge workload with Williams out. Carter and Palmer are next up on the depth chart and should see increased roles. Williams was having a nice year averaging about 8 targets a game.

Tests today revealed that Chargers’ WR Mike Williams suffered a high ankle sprain and, according to a source, “will miss some time.”

Fantasy Impact:

Awful news for Williams, who was having a great year, averaging over eight targets per game. Keenan Allen was eased back into the lineup during Week 7, and Williams' injury will force the Chargers' hand in getting him back into a full-time role very soon. Allen has proven over his extensive career that he has the chops to be a target hog, and the team will need him to step up quickly, assuming he is back to full health.
