Willie Parker has not had two games with less production in his career like his past two. Not since his rookie season of 2004, when he hardly played, has Parker produced fewer than 28 yards rushing over two games.

He has 28 yards on eight carries since returning Oct. 16 from a turf toe injury that caused him to miss two games and lose his starting job to Rashard Mendenhall, who leads the team with 418 yards and has a 5.4-yard average. Parker has just 187 yards and a 3.1-yard average.

Parker said he might abandon the special shoes Nike produced for him to protect his toe the past two games because it has healed so well. He also recovered from an illness that sent him home before practice Monday.

Mendenhall will make his fifth consecutive start, but it is possible Parker could get more carries because of his improved health and the high altitude in Denver.
