Jaguars.com writer John Oehser predicts that RB Jordan Todman will be the primary backup to Toby Gerhart: "Todman indeed played well last season when he had the opportunity and I’d expect him to be the top backup this season to Toby Gerhart. His strength indeed is as a runner more than protection or receiving, but I’d still say he’s the top option to start if Gerhart is unavailable."

Fantasy Impact:

There are those who believe rookie Storm Johnson is the proper handcuff to Gerhart, but we agree with Oehser. He actually listed Johnson fourth behind Gerhart, Todman and Denard Robinson.

Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy, who entered concussion protocol earlier this week, is not expected to play Sunday against the Seahawks, I’m told.

Fantasy Impact:

McCarthy looks like he will conveniently miss the Sam Darnold-Vikings matchup, which will showcase what Minnesota could have had if they kept the veteran. Instead, we'll get a Max Brosmer start, who should be left on waiver wires wherever possible.

It didn’t take veteran wide receiver Brandin Cooks long to find his new team.

The Bills announced today that they have signed Cooks, a day after he cleared waivers.

Fantasy Impact:

Cooks negotiated with the Saints to gain his release, and the Bills were one of three teams people around the league identified as his potential destination (the Rams and Broncos were the other two), the story went on to say. The Bills are hoping the signing of Cook can give QB Josh Allen some needed help at the WR position as we head down the stretch of the regular season. While roster spots are tough to come by, Cooks could have some fantasy value eventually, and could be worth a stash, especially in deeper leagues.

'You'll find out Thursday' if Packers WR Jayden Reed plays

When asked whether Jayden Reed could play Thursday given the lack of practice time since his window opened last Friday, LaFleur said: "You never know... You'll find out Thursday."

Fantasy Impact:

Of course, fantasy owners will find out about an hour and a half before the kickoff. We'll hopefully have a better idea by Wednesday's practice report. Reed was limited last week and again today so there could be a chance he's able to log some snaps on Thanksgiving. He would be a risky fantasy play without a full workload.
