Mike Garafolo reports Baker Mayfield must show Tampa Bay he can grip and throw the football as he attempts to return from his thumb injury. The issue is functionality rather than pain tolerance. Garafolo said the Buccaneers were still expecting Jalon Daniels to start as recently as Monday; Mayfield’s availability against Carolina remains unsettled.

Keep Daniels available in superflex leagues until Tampa Bay confirms its starter. A healthy Mayfield return would improve the passing game’s outlook, but managers should wait for confirmation that he can throw effectively before counting on that upgrade.

The Eagles cut Blue and Steele along with bringing in Mitchell. If Barkley can't play in Week 7, Mitchell could see significant time as Pierce wasn't impressive over the last two weeks. There have also been rumors of the Eagles trading Barkley to an RB-needy team if things continue to spiral downward for the Birds. That remains to be seen, however, but this is certainly a situation to watch, and adding Mitchell is worth it to at least see how things shake out.

According to multiple reports, veteran Brandon McManus has agreed to join Los Angeles.

McManus, 35, was most recently with the Packers last season. He made 24-of-30 field goals and 32-of-33 extra points in 14 regular season games the story said. McManus did miss two field goals and an extra point in a playoff loss to Chicago.
