Steelers WR Markus Wheaton to see specialist for shoulder

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Markus Wheaton told ESPN that he will see a specialist for his shoulder injury and hopes it "doesn't end my season."

Wheaton started practicing at full strength in Week 9 but suffered a setback last week, he said.

After 97 catches and seven touchdowns from 2014-15, Wheaton has missed five games with the recurring injury that at first was believed to be a bone bruise. Wheaton hasn't found a rhythm in the games he has played, catching four passes for 51 yards and a touchdown.

Fantasy Impact:

Wheaton is the Steelers' third outside receiver to have injury issues in recent weeks. Sammie Coates has been battling a fractured finger, and Darrius Heyward-Bey is out with a midfoot sprain. Cobi Hamilton started Sunday's 35-30 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, catching one pass for 39 yards.
