QB Collins looking to be this week starter for Titans

It's looking more likely that veteran quarterback Kerry Collins will return to the starting lineup on Sunday when the Titans host the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Collins hasn't played since straining a calf muscle on Nov. 14, but practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday — his first practice since the injury.

"I've come a long way since (the injury) happened," Collins said. "I'm feeling better. I'm feeling as good now as I have since it happened. I'm just trying to get my strength back and get better with every day that passes."

Titans Coach Jeff Fisher said Collins has improved since Sunday, when he was the back-up behind rookie Rusty Smith. Fisher added that his return gave the Titans some extra energy.

"It's already been a significant boost for them, knowing that he has a good chance to play," Fisher said. "Obviously we can do a little bit more, game-plan wise. Guys are excited."

Fantasy Impact:

The Titans needs Collins to have any chance to win. With Rusty Smith under center and now threat of a passing game, Chris Johnson was held to seven carries and five yards and the Titans had 0 points.
