Kylen Granson to be a featured pass catching tight end

According to Stephen Holder of the Athletic, Indianapolis Colts rookie tight end Kyle Granson 'will be a featured pass-catching tight end' this season.

Fantasy Impact:

Granson has been making waves in camp and appears to have solidified a role in an offense that will make frequent use of multiple tight ends. This is what Holder had to say "While Doyle and Alie-Cox will have significant blocking responsibilities — especially with left tackle Eric Fisher on the mend from an Achilles injury — Granson will be a featured pass-catching tight end. He’s already been very involved in training camp. He has the potential to have a big year if he can consistently avoid drops." While this by no means suggests that he will pace the position in targets, this is news to remember when eyeing a potential TE2 for those who play in leagues with deeper rosters. Jack Doyle is the only one of these tight ends currently in our top 200, but with a strong showing to start the season, Granson has the chance to leapfrog him on the depth chart when the Colts are in obvious passing situations. This will be a situation to monitor throughout the season due to Carson Wentz's affinity for targeting the tight end position.
