This comes following Jacobs being charged with two misdemeanors last week stemming from his May arrest. Jacobs will still be paid for this season but will not be allowed to practice or play until he is taken off the list. He will not count against the 53-man roster. This could also help explain the Packers acquiring Kaleb Johnson from the Steelers. MarShawn Lloyd now stands to be the lead back, at least early in the season until Jacobs comes back. When that is is anyone’s guess. Jacobs isn’t due in court until November.

The Packers are acquiring running back Kaleb Johnson from the Steelers.

Fantasy Impact:

Johnson announced his own trade, posting on his social media, “Appreciate it Steelers Nation. Let’s do it Packers.” Johnson was a third-round pick for the Steelers in 2025 but ended up buried behind Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell. The Steelers essentially swapped Gainwell for Rico Dowdle this season, leaving Johnson stuck. Now he joins a Green Bay backfield that is waiting to see if Josh Jacobs will serve a suspension as a result of his May arrest and August charges.

George Kittle expected to practice this week, has chance to play Week 1

49ers tight end George Kittle (Achilles) is expected to practice this week and has a “legitimate” chance of playing in Week 1 against the Rams in Australia.

Fantasy Impact:

Kittle has not had any setbacks in his recovery from his injured Achilles and was activated from the physically unable to perform list last Sunday. Worst case scenario looks to be the team keeping Kittle home to avoid the long travel to Melbourne and he makes his return in Week 2. How he practices this week will be worth monitoring and will determine whether he actually travels and plays with the team. If he travels, there’s a good chance he suits up on September 10 (September 11 in Australia). The 49ers are planning to leave a week ahead of the game, so we’ll have a better idea of Kittle’s status later this week.

Keenan Allen arrested early Sunday morning, charged with DWI

Colts WR Keenan Allen was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with driving while intoxicated and DWI endangering a person, both misdemeanors.

Fantasy Impact:

Allen was arrested around 1 a.m. ET Sunday morning in downtown Indianapolis. The story is still developing. Allen signed a one-year deal with the Colts earlier this month in what will be his 14th NFL season (12 with the Chargers, one with the Bears). He played in Saturday’s preseason game against the Lions, catching one pass for 24 yards.
