David Wilson expected to handle goal line duties

Giants RB David Wilson, at least for now, is the focal point of the ground game. Last season, Andre Brown emerged as the Giants’ most lethal goal-line runner, scoring eight rushing TDs in 10 games before his season came to an abrupt end because of a broken left leg. Brown seemed to have that role sewn up this summer, too.

“Going into it, (goal line) was mainly his job,” Wilson said. “We had a package where he was the guy to go in and get those tough yards. Now that he’s out, I’m gonna definitely have to step up.”

But HC Tom Coughlin said he’s not worried about Wilson handling short-yardage duties.

“David Wilson, he runs in there hard,” the coach said. “I don’t have a problem with that at all. He’s powerful, he’s compact, he has tremendous leg strength, which is his forte.”

Fantasy Impact:

Wilson definitely gets a bump with Brown sidelined for 4-6 weeks, but don't be surprised if the Giants kick the tires on a few veteran RBs (like Willis McGahee, Michael Turner or Beanie Wells).
