Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt limited Wednesday

Raiders All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers underwent a meniscus trim Tuesday in Dallas with Dr. Daniel Cooper and now is expected to miss “a game or two”, league sources told @rapsheet and me. Bowers got banged up “a little in camp” and the injury was diagnosed last week and surgery scheduled.

Bowers must be removed from Week 1 lineups but remains an obvious hold, with the initial timetable pointing toward a relatively short absence. Mayer becomes an immediate waiver addition and viable Week 1 streamer against Miami, with enough projected route and target volume to enter the TE1/2 fringe conversation. Tucker should also absorb additional targets, while Nailor and Bech receive smaller boosts. Bowers’ Week 2 availability appears doubtful, with Week 3 representing a reasonable but not guaranteed return target.

Tyreek Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said doctors have recommended postponing the veteran receiver’s potential return until “perhaps sometime in October.”

Hill remains a free agent after suffering a dislocated left knee and extensive ligament damage last September. The 32-year-old has undergone two surgeries and continues working to regain strength in the injured leg.

An October return remains only a possibility, not an established timetable. Hill would still need to receive medical clearance, sign with a team and work through some form of practice ramp-up before contributing. He can remain on the waiver wire in typical redraft leagues, although managers with deep benches or available IR space can continue monitoring his recovery.

Bills WR Khalil Shakir is on the practice field Wednesday.

Shakir is moving toward playing, but several weeks of missed practice make him difficult to trust immediately, almost impossible as any sort of ceiling play. He remains a bench or deeper FLEX option until Buffalo provides more clarity about his practice participation and expected snap count.
