CHI: WR Hester could be ready against Falcons

Devin Hester left Soldier Field on Sunday wearing a neck brace, and Israel Idonije had arthroscopic knee surgery on Monday.

Coach Lovie Smith says both could be available when the Bears play again Oct. 18 at Atlanta.
The bye week came at the perfect time for a team that has some minor injuries to heal before a challenging stretch. Hester, who's believed to have suffered a stinger, and fellow wide receiver Johnny Knox (shin) are expected to be fine after being knocked out of the victory over the Detroit Lions.

''We feel pretty good about [Idonije] coming back quickly, soon, all of those,'' Smith said. ''But we'll see how it goes. Pretty tough guy. He'll be back out there before long.''
