Braylon Edwards clicking with Mark Sanchez

Two days after Braylon Edwards made a splash in his Jets’ debut, he was diving all over the practice field Wednesday
“He put on another show out there today,” coach Rex Ryan said. “Oh my goodness. It’s ridiculous. It’s like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ Shouldn’t we put a red jersey on him? Like let’s not touch this guy.”

Edwards clicked with Mark Sanchez right away. Sanchez and Edwards sat down with offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and wide receivers coach Henry Ellward the day the wide receiver arrived at the team's practice facility (before Edwards ever hit the practice field) for an intitial film review.

"We just watched Braylon's highlight tape basically from Cleveland," Sanchez said. "Just looking at his catches. We were both looking at each other like, 'Whoa. This dude is something else.' So we had an idea what he could do."
Sanchez targeted the 6-3 Edwards a team-high nine times in Monday night’s 31-27 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Despite Edwards’ solid numbers on Monday – 5 catches for 65 yards and a touchdown – he’s far from satisfied. So, he has his sights set much higher.

“I think we’re already comfortable with each other,” Edwards said. “Now the thing is moving forward and getting better and getting to where we can do it at a Peyton Manning-Reggie Wayne level. Right now, we’re comfortable with each other. But it’s just a start.”
