Boldin didn’t have any setbacks

Giants head coach John Harbaugh isn’t ready to make any announcements about the extent of quarterback Jaxson Dart’s knee injury.

A report on Tuesday indicated that an MRI showed more damage than doctors initially believed Dart sustained early in Monday night’s loss to the Rams and that he could be out for the rest of the season. Harbaugh spoke to reporters on a videoconference shortly after that report and said that the team is still working to determine next steps with their starter.

“I’m not sure exactly what news or how anything’s been stated,” Harbaugh said, via SNY. “Right now, evaluations are ongoing. We haven’t got any final decisions yet, we’ve learned a lot more. I wouldn’t want to share too much until decisions get made and that takes more than one person.”

A report just moments ago said Dart is going to miss more time than was originally expected, possibly the entire season. But, there was no update on exactly what Dart's injury is. Whatever the case, we're trying to bring you updates as we see them, so while this maybe pumps the brakes a bit on the latest update, we do know there is at least one more coming from the Giants, themselves. One thing that seems pretty safe to say is Winston is at least going to take over as the starter for the next few weeks. We'll continue to update Dart's timeline, but Dart owners should probably come up with another plan for QB.

As it turns out, Chicago’s backup quarterback is also dealing with an injury.

Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Tyson Bagent has been diagnosed with a concussion and is now in the protocol.

With starter Caleb Williams week-to-week with a hamstring injury, Case Keenum is now in line to start against the Eagles next Monday night.

Keenum, 38, has not appeared in a game since he started two for Houston back in 2023. He was 34-of-53 in those two contests for 291 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions, the story said. It will be a tough matchup against the Eagles and DC Vic Fangio in Week 3. It's also a downgrade for the Bears weapons: Luther Burden, Rome Odunze, Kalif Raymond and Colston Loveland. With none of them, outside of Raymond, off to great starts through two weeks, owners may want to think about different options in Week 3.

Via NFL Network, an MRI showed that Dart’s knee injury is worse than expected. He’s now expected to be out an extended period of time, and possibly for the rest of the season.

It's a terrible update for what looked like was going to be a situation that turned out mostly positive. There were no other details as far as the injury goes other than Dart is expected to be out longer than the original timeline. It means Winston takes over as the team's starting QB. While he struggled in relief, practice reps should help him going forward. We know what we're going to get with Winston, so there is some fantasy value there. He likes to sling it and that comes with some highs and lows. The Giants will likely be looking to add another QB as Jake Haener is on the practice squad.
