Ben Tate suffers knee injury

The Cleveland Browns lost running back Ben Tate to a knee injury late in the second quarter of their season opener Sunday against the Steelers.

Tate's last carry was a 25-yard run with 6:30 left in the second quarter. He went to the sideline and did not return.

No details were provided on the nature or extent of the knee injury.

Fantasy Impact:

Tate missed time with a rib injury in 2013, and missed his rookie season with a broken ankle so injuries are nothing new to Tate owners. Rookies Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell replaced Tate, and Crowell scored two touchdowns in the third quarter and looked good at times. In the game Tate looked pretty good with six carriers for 41 yards, including the 25-yarder. The Browns may have to rely more on the run as TE Jordan Cameron was also banged up in the game.
