Joseph Addai's availability for Sunday still hinges on a hamstring.
Indianapolis Colts coach Jim Caldwell said today he's awaiting word from doctors on whether the team will have its starting running back for a road trip to Tennessee.
Addai exited the Colts' 62-7 loss at New Orleans Sunday night with a hamstring injury. Caldwell said Wednesday it's not the same injury which kept the sixth-year pro out the previous week's game at Cincinnati.
"It just depends on what happens with Joseph," Caldwell said, when asked who will play the position. "He is at this point really coming along, but doctors will give us the clear go-ahead here shortly at some point in time. When that's determined, we'll make a determination on how they'll work.
"Obviously, if Joe can go he'll go. If not, it will be the two guys who have doing it for us thus far."
Considering he said that he wasn't going to rush back, Addai's return was oddly timed, but the fact that this is a "new" injury may explain the series of events. We're not optimistic about Addai's return this Sunday, but it sounds as if Caldwell is.
