Rangers vs Astros Game 2 Odds at BetMGM Sportsbook

  • Moneyline: Rangers +100 | Astros -120
  • Run Line: Rangers +1.5 (-200) | Astros -1.5 (-120)
  • Total: Over 8.5 (-105) | Under 8.5 (-115)

The Astros did play a postseason series where the road team won every game in the past, so you can't really say this is a "must win" for them, but it certainly feels like it. Going down 0-2 and heading on the road would be quite the steep hill to climb. The Astros are sending Framber Valdez to the mound. Valdez has had mixed results in his postseason career, but he's been excellent in his past ALCS appearances. He's 3-1 with a 1.82 ERA in his career in the ALCS. Valdez was 1-2 in the regular season against the Rangers this season. Texas tagged him for six earned runs in his previous home start against them, but he rebounded by only allowing one earned run in his last start against the Rangers in Arlington in early September.

The Rangers are countering with Nathan Eovaldi. Eovaldi was not extremely successful against the Astros this year. He only pitched 8.1 innings across two starts vs Houston. If you believe in history repeating itself, there's a chance for the Astros to get the offense going against Eovaldi. Yordan Alvarez is 8-11 with two walks, a home run and four doubles in his career against Eovaldi. Alex Bregman has a career 1.237 OPS against Eovaldi. If the Astros can get two of their biggest bats in the middle of the lineup going they have a chance to put up some runs and even the series.
