An Expert's Cheatsheet to Dominating your 2026 Yahoo Fantasy Draft
Yahoo remains one of the most popular places to play fantasy football, and its default half-PPR scoring gives us a little more flexibility than some other platforms. High-volume pass-catchers still get a boost for their receptions, but touchdowns and rushing volume remain important enough that we don’t need to force wide receivers into every available Flex spot.
Instead, we can let the draft board dictate our early-round strategy while looking for Yahoo-specific values along the way. That flexibility is ultimately one of the biggest advantages we have in Yahoo drafts. There are enough pockets of value throughout the board that we can start with nearly any sensible roster construction and still put together a balanced team, provided we know where those pockets are before we're on the clock.
For this exercise, we’ll use Yahoo ADP from our Multi-Site ADP Tool to find positional runs we don’t necessarily need to participate in, areas where we can afford to wait, and some of our favorite targets throughout the draft.
Yahoo’s Early Rounds Are Running Back Heavy
Running backs have made a comeback at the top of fantasy drafts, and that is particularly apparent on Yahoo.
Eleven of the first 19 players coming off Yahoo draft boards are running backs, with Kenneth Walker, Ashton Jeanty, and De'Von Achane joining the more obvious first-round names near the 1/2 turn. By the time Breece Hall comes off the board at 27th overall, 13 running backs have already been selected.
